The minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu, says Nigeria is on track to add 150 megawatts of electricity to its national grid before the year ends.
Adelabu spoke to journalists after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, at the presidential villa in Abuja, on Wednesday.
He said the upgrade will be made possible following the successful completion of the pilot phase of the presidential power initiative.
The minister said the initiative, which is being implemented in partnership with Siemens, intends to enhance Nigeria’s electricity supply through a series of strategic projects.
According to him, the pilot phase of this project is up to 80% completed.
