The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) says no fewer than 4,145 security personnel would be involved in the local government election slated for September 21.
The Chairman of ENSIEC, Professor Christian Ngwu stated this in Enugu on Wednesday.
Ngwu said at least one security personnel would be provided at each of the 4,145 polling units in the 17 council areas of the state.
He said the commission was working in close synergy with the Nigeria Police, to get the required numbers of policemen deployed, to ensure that no one causes obstruction to the voting exercise on Saturday.
About two million voters are expected to participate in the council polls, to fill 17 chairmanship and 260 ward councillorship positions in Enugu State.
