The Anambra State Police Command says it will do everything possible to ensure that the gunmen, who attacked some communities in the state on Monday are apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law.
The command said this in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu.
The gunmen, who operated between 8:30 and 9:30am on Monday, stormed Ekeagu Market in Abatete and Ukpo Roundabout and killed some members of the Anambra State Vigilante Group.
The gunmen also set ablaze some patrol vehicles belonging to the vigilante operatives in Ukpo, in Dunukofia local government area of the state.
Ikenga confirmed that four members of the vigilante operatives were killed during the attacks, while two other persons were seriously injured.
He assured that the command led by Nnaghe Itam will leave no stone unturned until those behind the barbaric act are arrested and justice served.
