Manchester City’s star midfielder Rodri has been ruled out for the
rest of the season following a severe knee injury sustained during
Sunday’s match against Arsenal.
According to reports, Rodri tore the anterior cruciate ligament in
his right knee during the game at the Etihad Stadium.
The seriousness of the injury was confirmed after medical
examinations conducted on Monday morning.
The incident happened during the opening minutes of the game at a
City corner.
Rodri was being marked by Thomas Partey and fell to the pitch in
agony after appearing to jar his knee in the turf as the two players
jostled for position.
Further testing will take place in Spain for further clarity, but it is
feared Rodri will not play again this season.
