Imo State House of Assembly has passed a bill to make skill acquisition and craftsmanship mandatory in primary and secondary schools as well as in tertiary institutions in the state. The bill, sponsored by the member representing Oguta state constituency, Gilbert Nwosu, was passed during the plenary session on Tuesday. After the passage of the bill, the Speaker, Chike Olemgbe directed the clerk to transmit the passed bill to the state governor, Hope Uzodimma for his assent. According to the speaker, the bill would reduce over-dependence on white-collar jobs by school leavers.
